The bassoon itself is a challenge. There are many thumb keys to learn which is awkward for most instruments considering the thumb is something you don't normally have to do a lot with if anything at all.
They say the best instrument to to witch over to the bassoon from is the saxophone. And even those are quite different. However, the saxophone and the clarinet are VERY similar. So the clarinet wouldn't be too far off of the challenge.
I really think you can do it but how fast it will take you will depend on how fast you're able to learn and how bad you really want to learn it. I would highly recommend seeking a private teacher to help you since you're not that experienced with the clarinet, either.
